It’s a modern smooth red
Opulent, rich reds with a nice smooth and satisfying finish. These wines come from hot places where the winemakers know how to make their wines silky smooth using oak. Rioja is the gold standard here, along with Malbec, Chianti, Pinotage and Portuguese reds.
About the wine

Over the years at Moerbei Estate we’ve grown top quality Pinotage fruit, but all of it was sold to boutique wineries nearby. We decided to take our fruit back and show Angels how delicious this hidden jewel can be.
Naked had the confidence to give us the Angel investment in advance to help with our first bottling. They believed in us, and we hope once you taste our Redridge Pinotage you will love it too!
Our Redridge Pinotage is full-bodied yet elegant with crunchy red fruit flavours on the palate and a delightful smokey nose. This wine is truly South African and it would compete with the best Pinotage in South Africa.
Meet the winemaker
Kobie and Faisal
Kobie was head winemaker at South Africa’s ancient Spier winery, with the oldest wine cellar in the land. Faisal was the business brains that transformed Spier into the nation’s most medalled winery in the 1990s.
They bought a vineyard right next door to Spier, and for years sold them their grapes, which went into Spier’s top-of-the-range boutique wines.
Angel backing now means they use their own grapes to make a range of game-changing wines that have become cult classics at Naked. If you like trying new wines that make you go, ‘where has this been all my life?’, you’ll love Kobie & Faisal.
